Bryce Harper exits early with apparent serious knee injury

During the first inning of the Nationals' game against the visiting San Francisco Giants, star outfielder Bryce Harper's leg buckled as he touched first base. The injury occurred when Harper attempted to beat out a groundball to the first baseman.

In the bottom of the first inning, Bryce Harper hit a ground ball to first base and sprinted to the bag, racing past starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija.

Christian Hackenberg report card: How'd Jets' QB look vs. Titans?
The good: Hack started 14-for-18 where the only incompletions were three drops and a pass tipped at the line of scrimmage. McCown showed deep-ball accuracy, hitting Robby Anderson on a 53-yard bomb - something we haven't seen in training camp.

After writhing in pain on the ground for a couple of minutes, Harper was helped off the field with assistance from trainer Paul Lessard and hitting coach Rick Schu. The unquestioned face of the Nationals franchise, he is under contract for just one more season before his much anticipated free agency commences.

Saturday's game started after a three-hour rain delay in D.C., and it's unclear how much the damp conditions affected the basepaths. The Nationals and Giants are set to play a doubleheader on Sunday.

Antonio Conte: 'Nemanja Matic is a great loss to Chelsea'
That is the opinion of former Manchester United right-back and pundit Gary Neville. "I think Matic [himself] personally maybe wanted to move on".

For all of the Nationals' injuries this season, and there have been plenty of them, they have been able to avoid anything catastrophic since Eaton tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
