Officials did not elaborate on how the helicopter crash was connected.
Shortly after the rally had been canceled in Charlottesville, a vehicle rammed into people in a street as they appeared to be leaving a counterprotest rally.
According to CNN, multiple people have been injured in fights and there are concerns things will get far worse this afternoon.

The move comes ahead of a white nationalist rally planned in the small college town to protest plans to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a city park. Charlottesville lies about 160 kilometers (100 miles) outside of the U.S. capital, Washington, DC.

Far-right groups, also including the "alt right" movement and other white supremacists outfits have found a new cause in defending the confederate flag and monuments in the US south that they see as being under attack from the Left or "political correctness".
