Shimla: Thirty people are feared killed after a massive landslide buried two buses they were travelling in Himachal Pradesh'sMandi district. One of the buses was going from Manali to Katra and another from Manali to Chamba. The injured were taken were taken to a hospital.
"Around 50 people are feared to have been washed away in the landslide", Himachal Pradesh's Transport Minister G.S. Bali told the media. The landslide happened on the national highway that connects Manali and Mandi, shortly after midnight.
Six bodies were recovered from the site of the landslide. "A bus had also rolled down to almost 800 meters from the National Highway, and four people have been rescued from the debris", Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, Sandeep Kadam told ANI.
About 30 people were killed on Sunday after two Himachal roadway buses fell in a km-deep gorge at around 11:30 AM, while seven others were killed in an accident involving three vehicles early in the morning. The administration called in the army and NDRF teams for the rescue operations.
