Khamenei warns Iran will respond to 'every wrong step' taken by US regarding nuclear deal
"This proves how right Imam Khomeini was when he described the U.S. as the "Great Satan", the Leader noted, adding that the United States is really the most evil one.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Sunday Tehran will respond to any wrong steps related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal.
While Iranian officials made a decision to hold nuclear negotiations and even retreat from part of the country's rights to have the sanctions lifted, the United States is behaving in a cruel, bullying and forceful manner despite all of those negotiations, commitments, Imam Khamenei said.
Iran said last month it could abandon the nuclear agreement "within hours" if the United States imposes any new penalties, after Washington ordered sanctions over Tehran's ballistic missile tests.
"However today, we see that despite all agreements and promises and many discussions during the negotiations, the USA treats these negotiations and their outcome in a totally oppressive and bullying manner", he was quoted as saying by Press TV.
"The enemy should know that bullying may work in other parts of world, but it will not work in the Islamic republic".
"The corrupt, lying, deceitful USA officials insolently accuse the nation of Iran... of lying, whereas the nation of Iran has acted honestly and will continue on this path until the end in an honest manner", said Khamenei.
"The Iranian nation is standing firm and any wrong move by the domineering regime regarding the (nuclear accord) will face the reaction of the Islamic Republic", state television quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying.
