British authorities combed a London suburb on Saturday after the arrest of an 18-year-old man suspected of ties to a bombing on the city's subway a day earlier.

The suspect, who was arrested under the Terrorism Act, is now being held in a local police station, the Met Police said.

Witnesses reported seeing passengers covered in blood and with facial burns and hair coming off at Parsons Green station in west London after the explosion on the train.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) said an affiliated unit had carried out the attack.

Owners of the latter three don't have to pay more because the price of their AppleCare plans will remain the same. Apple is apparently going all out this year - not as much in terms of new features as it is with the price hikes.

Britain's threat level remained on its second-highest rank of severe following the "cowardly attack" meant to cause significant harm, said Prime Minister Theresa May.

It is the fourth time the terror threat level has been raised to critical in the last 11 years - most recently after the Manchester Arena bombing.

UK Police said some 1,000 armed officers would be seen across the country after military assistance was requested.

"This is a proportionate and sensible step which will provide extra reassurance and protection while the investigation progresses", she added.

Reuters photographs showed police cordons in a modest suburban street in Sunbury, in the county of Surrey, around 11 miles (18 km) from Parsons Green where the bomb exploded.

We recall the morning of September 15 in the train London underground station at Parsons Green detonated an improvised explosive device, resulting in 29 people were injured.

The man was placed in custody and is expected to be transferred to a south London police station, according to the statement. "As the mayor of London I can say this and I can speak for Londoners - we are not going to allow them to do so", Khan said. Fortunately, no one was killed; it's the only act of terrorism in the United Kingdom this year that saw no fatalities.

And in June, eight victims were killed when three attackers struck pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people at the nearby Borough Market.
