Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai flew to South Africa for what the party said was for a routine medical procedure. "He is being attended to", a senior official from Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
He is leading negotiations with several small opposition parties to form a grand coalition to contest against President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF in next year's polls.
This after widespread media reports that he was on life support fighting for his life. "He will be fine, it's only that he was overwhelmed with work and his health deteriorated", another anonymous source told news agency AFP.
