Stokes was arrested last month in Britain on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and suspended from internationals until further notice following a fight outside a nightclub.

And Waugh, who played 168 Tests for Australia and scored almost 11,000 runs, believes England have no chance of victory without the all-rounder but also thinks he will be given extra leeway because of his talents.

"It's got to be said, it's not an ideal time to be away from Australia", Waugh told Sky Sports Radio today.

And Steve Waugh, who played in over 150 Tests for Australia, believes England will lose if Stokes is not selected.

In a statement posted on Twitter , Laidlaw said, "It's with a mix of emotions that I'm announcing my time with BioWare has ended". The BioWare community says a tearful goodbye to the man behind some of the most iconic franchises in gaming history.

And Waugh thinks Stokes' potential absence will pile more pressure on the experienced duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson.

Waugh said he would have preferred players have more time off with the Ashes around the corner.

The former captain predicted a 3-1 win for Australia, saying that the ageing English side would not quite last the distance.

"Especially if you get a long, hot summer in Australia, there's a lot of wear and tear on just the four specialists bowlers, especially when your batsmen don't bowl".

Great Wall to build MINIs in China
Local media speculation of a tie-up with BMW sent its shares soaring 14% Wednesday, prompting suspension in trading. Meanwhile, Great Wall Motor is reportedly eyeing on a joint venture with German luxury automaker BMW in China.

He is an explosive middle-order batsman and a risky right-arm fast medium bowler, and not being in Australia will pile more pressure on the likes of the experienced Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson. But the No.1 priority is batting. I'm not calling it an all-rounder, probably more a batting all-rounder. You're getting your best batsman at No. 6 and if they can bowl a bit that's a bonus.

Bangladesh tourists Glenn Maxwell, Hilton Cartwright and Ashton Agar are joined by the uncapped Marcus Stoinis and Travis Head as options for the middle-order berth. "It just didn't look good and it's a bad image for the game", he said.

Steve Waugh on Stokes: "I think they (England selectors) are pretty keen for him to play in Australia ... he's probably their best player, so it would be a real shame if he's not out here". "So I don't think the out-and-out genuine allrounder is there, given Mitch Marsh is coming back from a shoulder injury, so it's probably going to be that sort of player, a batsman who bowls a little bit".
