It's worth stressing here that this doesn't mean tickets will be available next to any music-related video on YouTube - those grainy fan-shot clips won't be used to sell tickets to the next gig on a tour.
Starting today, YouTube will begin featuring hundreds of artist's upcoming USA tour dates on their YouTube videos.
If you'll read a bit of YouTube's announcement of the partnership, it reads a bit like a proposal to Ticketmaster. Dates and venues are listed and include a direct link to Ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets.

The move comes at a time when Spotify is running away with the streaming market, and specifically has been working to improve its platform for artists with things like a data dashboard and native app for updating artists' profiles, playlists, and checking their stats.
However, Ticketmaster's deal is not exclusive to YouTube - the company past year integrated with Spotify for ticket sales as well. "The ones who not only watch and listen to videos, but are also willing to pay to see live performances". It's quite likely this will also apply to music videos with claimed ownership by artists and labels long before most modern YouTube content rules were in place.
