The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said a magnitude five-point-four natural disaster hit nine kilometers north of Pohang's northern district in North Gyeongsang Province at around 2:29 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, an aftershock of 5.4 was witnessed minutes later.

Residents in Seoul, which is more than 300 kilometers away from the epicentre, felt tremors, and said their buildings shook.
