Tonight at The Game Awards the new desert map has been announced and details unleashed, with the map's name "Miramar" being unveiled. It contains some denser urban areas, including a massive city far larger than anything the game has offered thus far. The Game Awards showed off some of the new things fans can expect in the coming updates. It will be officially released with the launch of the game's 1.0 release on December 20th. Do note, that this map will be free to all players.

In the video for the desert map, you can see new techniques like the vaulting and climbing mechanic being put to use, as well as new weapons and vehicles.

2 Brand New Game Worlds That No One Has Ever Seen Before
His full quote is as follows: "At least two games are brand-new game worlds that no one has ever seen before". During the pre-show leading up to The Game Awards 2017 , a trailer for a new World War Z game was shown.

The map looks to be a polar opposite of the Erangel map, offering "harsh and unforgiving desert" instead of lush fields and forest.
