Rafael Palmeiro hasn't played in the major league since 2005, but now the 53 year old is confident that he can make it back to the MLB. I've been working out for years.

"There's no doubt in my mind I can do it", Palmeiro told Rosenthal, per Yahoo's Chris Cwik.

Palmeiro amassed 3,020 hits and smacked 569 home runs during his career, but his reputation remains tainted due to his 2005 suspension for testing positive for steroids.

Israel Defense Forces strike Gaza Strip after Hamas rocket attack
The Israeli rocket attacks reportedly landed in the Gaza Strip and on an empty field in southern Israel, injuring no one. In response to rocket fire earlier on Thursday evening, the IDF fired on Hamas targets in central Gaza .

It's been nearly 13 years since Rafael Palmeiro played in the Majors, but he's not going to let old age stop him from continuing his dream of playing again.

Julio Franco, played 55 games in the majors in 2007, at age 48. He'll have a hard time convincing any team to invite him to spring training. "If you can hit, then you can hit".

Palmeiro isn't interested in going to play overseas or for an independent league team to prove he's worthy of a chance with an MLB team. He completed his first professional season past year playing 127 games for Low-A Delmarva. Another son, Patrick, played three seasons in the Chicago White Sox organization and previous year played for the independent Atlantic League's Southern Maryland Blue Claws.

At one point during the sentencing Scott's mother looked the former officer in the eye and told him she forgave him. Slaged pleaded guilty to a federal civil rights offense. "If you met him, you would like him", she said.

Rafael Palmeiro believes he has more to offer the game of baseball, and more to prove as well. Palmeiro went 2-for-4. But a comeback seems mighty unlikely.

As of right now, Minoso, a White Sox legend, is the fourth-oldest player to appear in a Major League Baseball game. Palmer quickly ended his comeback. He is also absent from the Orioles Hall of Fame despite his numbers in an O's uniform. Palmeiro has been penalized by the voters because of his failed steroid test, and in his fourth year of eligibility, he fell off the ballot after failing to receive the required 5 percent of the vote.
