Moe is in her second trimester of pregnancy in a state that has limits on when abortions can be provided, the lead ACLU lawyer on the case, Brigitte Amiri, told BuzzFeed News. The aggressively anti-choice Lloyd notably attempted to stop Jane Poe from receiving an abortion, despite knowing that the teenager's pregnancy was the result of rape in her home country, and that the girl herself had threatened self-harm when she was denied the procedure.

Last year, the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement adopted new, life-affirming policies under President Donald Trump's appointee Scott Lloyd.

The ACLU is seeking a temporary restraining order that would require the Trump administration to allow Moe to obtain the abortion. "This administration is blatantly ignoring the fact that the Supreme Court has held that abortion is a fundamental constitutional right".

In the previous cases, the minors have been eventually allowed to obtain abortions.

Can the Titans make it to the Super Bowl?
Let's not forget that before he went down with his shoulder injury, the former Lacrosse player was on pace for a career season. Indeed, he is the most successful coach in American football history, but that hasn't dampened the burning desire for more.

Two more immigrant teens, Roe and Poe, were added to the ACLU's fight against ORR but Roe's case was dropped when it was revealed she was lying about her age and was not a minor, while Poe's case was dismissed due to special circumstances cited by the government which they did not name.

In December, Planned Parenthood - the nation's largest abortion provider - demanded that Scott Lloyd, director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), be fired for declining to approve an abortion of one of the illegal teens who claimed to have been raped. These centers have historically discouraged women from getting abortions.

A spokesman with the Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families - which runs ORR - said in a statement that the administration does not believe it is its responsibility to facilitate abortions, but that Jane Moe has options if she chooses them.

He pointed out that the ACLU is using the "Jane Doe" case to try to "create a right to abortion for anyone on earth who enters the US illegally". Dalven went on to note the challenge the Trump administration has posed for young undocumented immigrants seeking abortions. And with that right, countless others undoubtedly would follow.

Judge Temporarily Blocks Trump Administration From Ending DACA
That's even though a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to restart the program that it canceled past year . District Judge William Alsup for dealing him a legal setback, slammed the whole "Court System" as "broken and unfair".

Paxton continued, "The states have a legitimate and substantial interest in preserving and promoting fetal life, as well as an interest in promoting respect for human life at all stages in the pregnancy". There were 420 pregnant girls in custody during fiscal 2017, according to court records. In the process of defending against the lawsuit, the Trump administration found that a fourth teenager involved in the case, "Jane Roe", was actually found to be 19 years old and not a minor and transferred her to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.

According to the report, the shelter took "Jane Doe" to a pro-life pregnancy resource center instead. Staff at the shelter where she is being held agreed to accompany her to the appointment, and she has private funds available to her to pay for the procedure, the ACLU said.

The ACLU sued on behalf of the teen, and after a series of appeals by the US government and the ACLU, the pro-abortion legal group won in federal appeals court.
