HMD Global is yet to confirm the acquisition, but it makes sense to use a trusted brand label to push for affordable smartphones in markets like India. Now a new report is pointing towards the brand releasing a completely new series of phones in the coming months.
Ever since HMD Global acquired Nokia's brand name for smartphones, it has smartly been investing in devices that'll be relevant despite the fierce competition in the global market. The application for acquiring the trademark was originally filled in October 2011 but the Asha label has been transferred to HMD Global on 9th January 2018. Nokia Asha 230 was the last smartphone to launch in the line up.
Much to our surprise, the trademark listing reveals that the "Asha" brand can also be used for, "Computer software platform used in mobile telephones and smartphones; mobile phones and smartphones", and "Wireless communication services namely for computer software used in mobile telephones and smartphones". Based on Android 8.0 Oreo, the Go edition is a stripped down, resource-friendly version of the operating system that would let phone makers launch sub-$30 smartphones.
The Nokia Asha series included a range of budget handsets; a lot of them support dual SIM cards. The handset came in February 2014, was the first to feature a hardware WhatsApp key and featured a 2MP rear camera. It is worth noting here that neither the trademark information at EUIPO nor HMD Global has so far confirmed any details regarding the Asha brand label.
As part of Android Go OS optimisation, Nokia 1 will run apps like Files Go, Google Go, Maps Go and YouTube Go, among others to take up 50 percent less space, giving users more room for other things like music and photos. There is a possibility that the company will keep the series placed in the budget price bracket. The smartphone is now limited to China users.

There was also discussion that KL Rahul should be back in the playing eleven and India need to play only four bowlers. Somehow, the "will not" bit looked likely and the picture of Rahane in a bib carrying drinks came to mind.
