Wanted man Jonny Evans is on the radar of top clubs
He needs to get cash in to do any real transfer business and says, despite all the rumours, there have been no concrete bids for Evans.
'It would be inappropriate if I didn't speak to him a little more candidly than I'm talking to you, ' Pardew told reporters. It's new to me having just come here but it's been around for while.
However, he acknowledged he may have to sell before he buys in the window, explaining: "The position at this football club financially is very, very tight".
"It's not something that wasn't made clear to me when I signed here to try and turn the situation around", he said.
'We might be looking to do some business on the last day, if I feel it works for the club and is not harmful to us.' Pardew admitted that pressure is high on West Brom, in 19th and four points off safety. He was definitely, definitely going - but he didn't go.
"I'm not saying I won't do any transfers with three days to go, but if it was a big transfer, one of the players who was very important to us and didn't give us the time to execute our plan, then no".
The West Brom boss described today's clash with Brighton as crucial.
Asked if any incomings were close he said: "No, because we haven't come close to getting anyone out".
"We've got a game plan and we need to attack it with venom".

"I think we are at a critical point in the season, yes", he admitted.

"This game won't decide our fate but it would really help us. I'd take my first victory here in the Premier League however it comes".
