Sam Bradford Activated Ahead of Vikings' Playoff Game vs. Saints

The Minnesota Vikings have activated quarterback Sam Bradford prior to their Divisonal round matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Bradford returned in Chicago in Week 5 but was pulled before halftime after aggravating his injured left knee.

The Vikings now have four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, but Kyle Sloter, who was inactive for the last eight regular-season games, definitely will be inactive again Sunday.

The tentative deal also addresses border security, including a border wall , the diversity visa lottery and chain migration. Most Democrats and nearly all Republicans say that they favor better enforcement of laws against illegal immigration.

It remains uncertain whether the Vikings will dress three quarterbacks against the Saints and whether Teddy Bridgewater, who has been the backup for starter Case Keenum, will continue in that role.

News of Bradford's activation began to heat up on Friday when the Boston Globe's Ben Volin cited a league source that Minnesota planned to dress the quarterback for Sunday's game.

County emergency manager Jeff Gater said officials decided not to send one sooner out of concern it might not be taken seriously. The disaster was already unfolding when Santa Barbara County officials sent out their first cellphone alert at 3:50 a.m.

Bradford, who was placed on IR on November 8 with a left knee injury, returned to practice last week and completed his fifth practice Friday. He is now set to start his first playoff game of his career with a chance to help guide the Vikings to their first Super Bowl win. He injured his left knee in that game, and was out until returning October 9 at Chicago.

There seemed to have been a true mental advantage for Keenum, who in addition to practice and game experience, got used to seeing the same plays over and over, knowing what to expect. Keenum led three second-half scoring drives in relief of Bradford as the Vikings beat the Bears 20-17. "Carson Palmer, Tony Romo, guys [STRIVR has worked with] in veteran systems, they were like, 'Man, I wish I had this when I was a rookie because it took me three years to get comfortable in the offense.' He's had less than one year to learn an entire offense and it's turned out really well". Bradford, who completed 27 of his 32 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings' season-opening win over New Orleans, twisted his left knee in the game, and missed the team's next three games before making a truncated return on October 9 against the Bears.
