Trump renews Iran nuclear deal, warns it's the last time
The foreign ministry vowed to retaliate but did not say what form any action might take.
Faced with a deadline over whether to reimpose the sanctions against Tehran that were lifted under the 2015 nuclear accord, Trump ultimately chose to keep those sanctions suspended for another 120 days.
Trumpsaid that his decision will give Tehran and America's European allies time to fix the deal's "terrible flaws".
The White House wants European Union signatories to agree permanent restrictions on Iran's uranium enrichment. Under the current deal they are set to expire in 2025.
Trump also wants Congress to impose new strictures on dealing with Iran, including a law that would explicitly tie Iran's missile programs to its nuclear program.
What are the new sanctions? The Treasury Department's action hits 14 Iranian officials and companies and businessmen from Iran, China and Malaysia, freezing any assets they have in the USA and banning Americans from doing business with them. "Today, I am adding 14 more to the sanctions list". The administration accuses Larijani of being responsible for the violent crackdown on dissidents in Iran during recent protests.
