Terror Police Investigate 'Unexplained' Death Of Russian Exile Nikolai Glushkov

Glushkov was a close associate of Boris Berezovsky, who fell out with Vladmir Putin and fled Russia and was himself later found dead at his home in Berkshire

Metropolitan Police confirmed a man in his 60s was found at a home in Clarence Avenue, New Malden, on Monday and that the cause of his death is unexplained.

Counter-terror police said it was in charge of the probe "as a precaution because of associations that the man is believed to have had", a spokesman said.

The death comes nine days after former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, were found slumped on a park bench in Salisbury after being poisoned by a rare nerve agent. In 1999, Glushkov was charged with money laundering and fraud after Berezovsky fell out with Russian President Vladimir Putin and fled to Britain.

Anthony Martial has returned from a thigh injury to add competition and Jesse Lingard, who was on the bench against Liverpool, is also pushing to start.

After Mr Beresovsky was found hanged at his home near Ascot in Berkshire in March 2013, Mr Glushkov told The Guardian he would "never believe" his friend took his own life.

Glushkov received political asylum in Britain after serving five years in prison in Russian Federation for money laundering and fraud, the Guardian newspaper reported.

The Met said officers believe they know who the man is, but he is yet to be formally identified. "A post-mortem examination will be held in due course", the source added.

The Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri star also took the chance to shine a light on the little-known term, inclusion rider.

Glushkov had worked for Russian airline Aeroflot and at Berezovksy's LogoVAZ auto company.

At the time of his death, he was living alone in New Malden, south-west London and was said to be a "nice man" who used to give his neighbour's children gifts at Christmas.

The 68-year-old Russian exile admitted feeling next on the "list" after close pal Boris Berezovsky died in 2013 from an apparent suicide.

The officials also mention that they are looking to delay the initial public offering of the Saudi Aramco until next year. Both WTI and Brent as recently as Thursday had marked their lowest settlements since mid-February.

In March last year, he was sentenced to eight years in prison in absentia and issued a one million Russian Ruble fine for allegedly defrauding Aeroflot of $122 million during his tenure as finance director there in the late 1990s.
