Bengals' Vontaze Burfict Loses Appeal

After latest suspension, Vontaze Burfict has now lost nearly $4 million due to discipline

Bengals' LB Vontaze Burfict has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The suspension had been reported a month ago, but Burfict attempted to appeal the decision based on his claim that the medication he was prescribed for a concussion he suffered during the 2017 season resulted in the failed test, according to the New York Daily News.

Trump signals strikes against Syria, lays into Assad ally Russian Federation
Syria's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that Trump's threats to attack are "reckless" and endanger worldwide peace and security. Trump added: "Our relationship with Russian Federation is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War".

Separate from those suspensions, Burfict has been fined $303,637 for 11 on-field incidents in his National Football League career, according to ESPN Stats & Information. "But at the end of the day we are a player-oriented business and the players are the ones that win or lose for us".

One problem: The Bengals hadn't officially shut Burfict down and he appeared on an injury report as doubtful. Evans, who was drafted previous year by the Bengals in the sixth-round, started four games during his rookie season on his way to registering 38 total tackles.

Vontaze Burfict will start his third straight season suspended. Last season he recorded just 69 total tackles in the 10 games that he had played in.

Once he completes the latest suspension, Burfict will have missed 33 of the team's last 70 games.

Cleveland Browns finalizing long-term deal with WR Jarvis Landry
If the reports stand true, Jarvis Landry would be the fifth-highest paid receiver along with Cincinnati Bengals standout A.J. Last season, Browns receivers caught 57 percent of the passes thrown to them; Landry has caught 71 percent in his career.

In 2016, Burfict was suspended the first three games after his illegal hit on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown in the playoffs as well as other player safety infractions. He appealed that suspension, which was reduced from five games.
