Facebook Stories adds funky AR drawing and Instagram's Boomerang

Facebook's mobile app has been updated with some enhancements for Stories - an augmented reality (AR) drawing tool and Instagram's popular Boomerang feature. Facebook's AR drawing tool allows users to create 3D drawings that will hold their place in the room, regardless of where the camera moves.

Facebook might be having a tough time dealing with the aftermath of the Cambridge Analytica crisis, but that hasn't stopped the social media giant from working on improving its products.

In the coming weeks, users will be able to draw on pictures they are taking through its camera, a feature that is being called, "3D drawing". This also means that flash photography is not supported by the new feature, on account of it harshly affecting the lighting captured in the image.

Their racecard numbers remain the same, except for Thunder And Roses who will have number one on his saddlecloth. The race is run over 30 fences that are larger and more demanding than conventional steeplechase obstacles.

Previously, the company revealed its AR effects back at F8 a year ago.

The second new feature announced for Facebook Stories - Boomerang - is an evolution of the GIF-creating feature available for a while. If you are not familiar with 3D drawing then this allows you to scribble a message or a graffiti and then move the camera around to see that the markings or the elements of the graffiti stay in place as the camera moves.

For the uninformed, Boomerang is a feature that loops videos back and forwards (hence the name) and have proven very popular with users of Instagram.

With these features added, will we finally see more Facebook users posting stories?
