Broncos to release running back C.J. Anderson

Two years later, the Broncos made a decision to part ways with the running back.

Recently, there was a report by Troy Renck of ABC Denver 7, the Dolphins had a verbal agreement in place to trade right tackle Ja'Wuan James to the Broncos for running back C.J. Anderson - before nixing the deal.

The Broncos apparently had an agreement all set to trade Anderson to the Miami Dolphins for offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James, but the Dolphins made a decision to pull out of the deal. He had a solid 2015 regular season and postseason that was topped by a 90-yard effort against Carolina in a Super Bowl 50 win.

Anderson is coming off the best season statistically in his career.

The Broncos signed Anderson as an undrafted free agent in 2013. The Cal product rushed for a career-high 1,007 yards last season for the Broncos. He also added in 28 receptions for 224 receiving yards and four total touchdowns.

Anderson was informed before the start of offseason workouts Monday that he would be released, multiple outlets reported.

Shire to Sell Oncology Business to Servier for $2.4 Billion
Cancer isn't one of the Shire's major units, with $262 million in 2017 sales, or about 1.8 percent of the company's total. Shire announced it's selling its oncology business to French immuno-oncology company Servier for $2.4 billion.

His departure could seem to increase the likelihood that John Elway targets Saquon Barkley with the No. 5 overall pick in this month's NFL Draft, should the former Penn State running back fall that far.
