CWG 2018 Squash: Dipika Pallikal, Saurav Ghosal bags silver for India

Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal bagged India's 14th Silver of CWG 2018
The historic 500th medal was the silver gained by Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal in the women's doubles in squash.
Dipika, however, was forthright on the contentious decisions of the referee: "There were some shocking calls and those changed the match". The Indian duo, who clinched gold a triumphant gold for India four years ago in Glasgow were outclassed by Joelle King and Amanda-Landers Murphy of New Zealand in the finals.
Following their final's silver on Sunday, Chinnappa expressed, "It's great that we could be in the finals, we had a great chance to win". The Indian pair fought hard before losing to Australia's Donna Urquhart and Cameron Pilley 8-11, 10-11 in a gruelling gold medal match. "It's disappointing, but it happens, that's sport". They need to be looked at. "If they don't, then the game doesn't grow", Pallikal said. It is sad to see that the players and the game are growing, but not the officials. Obviously disappointed to lose out on the gold we can be proud of the way we played.
Going by the number of medals, it was India's best ever performance at the Games ever since the sport was introduced way back in 1998.
Pallikal can add a second gold to her kitty if she and Joshna Chinappa defend their women's doubles title tomorrow. This is his third Commonwealth Games singles medal after winning bronze at the 2010 Games and gold in the 2006 edition.
