Wade Turns Back The Clock, 76ers

Center Joel Embiid will be a spectator once again when the 76ers take on the Miami Heat Monday night in Game 2 of the NBA Eastern conference playoff series. Embiid was ruled out by head coach Brett Brown Sunday. The 76ers lead the series 1-0

TNT's Inside the National Basketball Association analyst Kenny Smith was breaking down the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat series and when he got to discussing Ben Simmons as a player, he compared him to one of the most surprising players you could have guessed: Muggsy Bogues. The Heat is 1-4 in a 7-game series when it falls behind 0-2 (the only series win came in the 2006 NBA Finals vs. Mavericks).

Wade controlled the tempo of the second quarter during Monday night's Game 2 and poured in 21 points before halftime to help send Miami into the locker room with a 56-42 lead.

This is not the first time Philadelphia has played it safe with Embiid's on-court health.

Freddie Roach 'hurt' after split from Manny Pacquiao
When Roach was informed about Friday's announcement, he issued his own statement and took the high road. He added: "My adviser, Mike Koncz , has been in contact with Freddie's people to keep them informed".

He is reportedly out of the NBA's concussion protocol, and has already been ruled out for Game Two, which is set for Monday night at 8 p.m.at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. However, crucial misses eventually led to Wade burying multiple buckets to seal the game late on.

Embiid, as he is wont to do, took to social media in response to the outcome of the game.

There are still a few medical hurdles for Embiid to clear as he returns from surgery, sources told ESPN.

"I can't wait to get him back", coach Brett Brown said.

"When he's not able to do that he gets frustrated and I respect his frustration". "It's born out of competitiveness, and it's born out of him wanting to be with his team".

The 76ers were led by Ben Simmons' 24 points and Dario Saric's 23 points.

Syrian air defenses reportedly respond to new missile attacks
Near Damascus, the pro-regime media reported that three missiles had been launched at the Damir airbase close to the capital. Reuters cited Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon as saying that " there is no US military activity in that area at this time ".

Embiid has been on the sidelines since March 28 after suffering a concussion and a fractured orbital bone following a collision with teammate Markelle Fultz during their win over the New York Knicks. He underwent surgery to fix the fracture. This will give the young players confidence and good principles to stand on while preparing for game 3 on the road in Miami. Despite that, he's in the running for the Rookie of the Year award while he puts up historic numbers in his first season with the Sixers.
