GETTY HUGE Asteroid 2010 WC9 will come incredibly close to Earth next week

Asteroid 2010 WC9

An asteroid the size of a football field will have a close brush with Earth on Tuesday.

However, an asteroid discovered earlier this month - ZJ99C60, spotted on May 8 - turned out to be a blast from the past as astronomers realized it was actually 2010 WC9 coming back after nearly eight years.

When it was first discovered in 2010, astronomers could not predict when it might return because the data on the orbit was not clear. Astronomers think that in spite of its dimension as well as range to Earth, 2010 WC9 will securely zoom past the planet. However, it is rapidly brightening and is expected to get even brighter than eleventh magnitude when it is at the closest distance to the Earth.

The asteroid that would be moving at an estimated distance of about 203,453 kilometers (126,419 miles) could be reportedly witnessed even by the help of a small telescope.

Petrol, diesel prices hiked after Karnataka assembly elections
India gave away daily revision dilemma in fuel prices since the time global crude oil prices have peaked near 2014-highs. Th rising crude oil prices presents a huge threat to India that meets 83 per cent of its oil needs through imports.

With 2010 WC9 possibly bigger than the Chelyabinsk meteor, does it present any significant danger to Earth? The planet, which will fly past the Earth at 28,000 miles each hr, will certainly determine from 60 meters to 130 meters, which could make it longer compared to football areas that go for 110 meters. On May 8, astronomers spotted the asteroid and gave it a new name before realizing it was 2010 WC9.

"We have discussed unusual objects 2010 with WC9 with EarthSky!".

Thanks to Northolt Branch Observatories, you can actually watch it while flying. "Check out the link below to learn more about this asteroid, why it's special, and how to see it for yourself", on their Facebook page Say. We will be at us on Monday.

The space rock - dubbed Asteroid 2010 WC9 - will pass by the planet at around half the moon's distance on Tuesday. Estimates of its size range from 197 to 427 feet (60-130 meters), making the May 15 pass one of the closest approaches ever observed of an asteroid of this size.

Gray's rolling as Rockies host Brewers
John Gray will get the start for Colorado, he's 4-4 on the season but has allowed just one earned run over his last 20 innings. Freeland (3-4) kept the Brewers in check the night after they had battered Rockies pitchers in an 11-10 win in 10 innings.

One of the ways this small asteroid is, "Earth Site EarthSky said". After a few weeks, the scientists lost track of the asteroid.

2010 WC9 was first detected by the Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona on November 30, 2010, shows the Center for Near-Earth Objects Study (CNEOS) at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

Daniel Bamberger of Northolt stated on his Facebook page that the object has been imaged twice.

As per the experts, the asteroid 2010 WC9 is even larger than that of the "Chelyabinsk meteor" that had injured near about one thousand people and had wrecked glasses on its breaking up atop Chelyabinsk in Russian Federation in the year 2013.
