'Superman' actress Margot Kidder has died at 69

Margot Kidder died Sunday at 69 at her home in Montana

Margot Kidder who starred as Lois Lane in 'Superman' movies dead at 69

It is said that she passed away Sunday but no cause of death has given as of yet.

Best known for playing Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in the Superman films of the 1970s and 1980s, she went on to become an advocate for mental health issues after speaking out about living with bipolar disorder.

Kidder starred alongside Reeve in 1978's Superman and its sequels, as well as horror classics Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror.

Her first husband was the American novelist Thomas McGuane with whom she had her daughter Maggie McGuane in 1976. But she had continued to act on television, in film and occasionally onstage.
