A surveillance video from an undisclosed fix shop in Las Vegas shows an iPhone exploding, according to a report from CBS New York. Experts say iPhone batteries can explode when the phone overheats. Most times when a smartphone battery explodes, it's because the battery was damages as a result of some type of impact.
Local phone repairer Paul Tataglio told 13 Action News temperatures in Las Vegas- which can rise above 40C in summer- could potentially be to blame for the explosion. The employee jumps away as the phone begins smoking.

In the east of England, schools made 7,881 referrals to CAMHS, but nearly a third of these were deemed ineligible for treatment. In the North of England, 10,051 referrals were made in the past year - the equivalent of 53 every school day.
The phone was reportedly brought to the store to replace the screen which had cracked after its battery has expanded. As can be seen in the video however, the flames spewing from the iPhone burned out in less than 15 seconds. The exact source of the explosion is hard to make out in the video, but KTNV reports that it was an iPhone 6S. But the notion that a healthy battery can explode if you leave your phone in the sun or if you keep it plugged into a charger for too long is ridiculous.
