No charges will be filed in connection to a bear attack that seriously injured a 5-year-old Grand Junction over the weekend.

The attack happened early Sunday near Grand Junction, about 240 miles west of Denver.

MCSO deputies learned the girl went outside at about 2:30 a.m.to check on her dog and sat down by the back door when a bear came from around the front of the house and sniffed her.

Then, the mother, who was not identified, saw her girl being dragged by the black bear. The animal only dropped Kimberly after the girl's mother began to scream at it.

Porras says warming temperatures on Sunday made the hounds' ability to track the bear less effective.

She was listed in fair condition in the afternoon but chief operating officer Bryan Johnson says her family didn't want to release any more information. When she got up to go inside, the bear grabbed her and pulled her out of the doorway, according to the press release.

According to her mother, Kimberly Cyr had gone outside to investigate noises in the yard she may have thought was her dog.

The girl's mother heard screaming.

Malaysian Muslims to begin fasting Thursday
The committee is set to meet after prayers on the evening of Tuesday, May 15, at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, WAM said. Previous year more accidents happened in the late morning rush hour between 10am and 11am than any other time.

'Before the sun rose on the morning of Mother's Day, she truly exemplified the love and courage of what it takes to be a mother and, because of those actions, her child is here today, ' said J.T. Romatzke, regional manager for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. "And by doing so, she probably saved her little girl's life", said Porras, AP reported.

CPW told CBS4 Sunday afternoon they have set up three traps in the neighborhood which will be left overnight.

Breaux said the bear bit the girl multiple times on her backside.

State officials have seen an increase in bear conflicts over the years as more people continue moving to Colorado and push farther into bear country. Wildlife officers in Mesa County are now searching for the bear to make sure no one else is attacked.
