Medical examiner confirms how Kate Spade died

The fashion designer was tragically found dead by her housekeeper at her Park Avenue apartment on Tuesday at the age of 55.

The husband of fashion designer Kate Spade, who took her own life Tuesday, says his wife was getting help for anxiety and depression.

Brosnahan said he last spoke to Kate the night before her death, and that she seemed to be in good spirits, discussions plans for a trip to California with her daughter. [Kate] was actively seeking help for depression and anxiety over the last 5 years, seeing a doctor on a regular basis and taking medication for both depression and anxiety.

Andy Spade said he and his wife had chose to take a break and had lived in separate residences for 10 months.
