Anthem was revealed at EA Play a year ago and EA previously teased an early 2019 release, though we didn't have an official date until now. Franchise Mode also sees some added customization, with players now being able to customize their drafts. There is no PvP mode and you can play the entire game by yourself, which should please those who get annoyed by Destiny's locked off content. Mark Darrah also seemed to hint that a public beta will occur. The game is set between episodes 3&4; an era where Jedi are hunted down and all but eradicated. NBA Live 19 was announced alongside a new trailer.
Casey Hudson, the General Manager of Bioware, described Anthem as a "dynamic" open world game that's different from the usual singleplayer/multiplayer games. Despite this, every fight between the four players and an enemy group felt like a well-choreographed battle sequence straight out of a Star Wars movie or something. Unfortunately, there was no glimpse of the gameplay shown and about the release date, the developer gave a vague release period around Holiday 2019. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final entry in Square Enix's origin trilogy, is out on September 14, so Square Enix is definitely going to make the game a big part of its press conference.
The highlight of the show came from Bioware's Anthem. The upcoming Unravel Two will feature a co-op mode where the players will undergo many hours of puzzle solving adventure, attractive landscapes and most important fostering friendship. It will have be an online game with players working together to complete quests.
So that is it for the first briefing of E3 2018 - a short if solid showing from EA. We'll likely hear about moreXbox One X-enhanced titles for the year ahead, but when it comes to games, we're left scratching our heads.
Battlefield 5 will be another big game featured during EA Play, whiel Respawn Entertainment have also teased that one of their new projects will be teased during the show. Not much is known about the game besides it will be a dark and edgy experience with the game's story taking place between Star Wars Ep. 3 and Ep 4.
