President Trump tweeted that his economic advisor Larry Kudlow had suffered a heart attack just minutes before the president met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

The White House did not immediately release any more information about his condition.

Kudlow's friend Stephen Moore, of the Heritage Foundation, told Politico that he believes he will be okay.

Donald Trump Says That Melania Had a ‘Big Operation’
For the third time since her 25 days out of the spotlight, Melania Trump resurfaced at a high profile event on June 10. She participated Sunday without Trump; he's in Singapore preparing for his meeting Tuesday with North Korea's leader.

Kudlow, who was born Jewish but converted to Roman Catholicism, was appointed head of the National Economic Council in April.

Kudlow, a Fairfield County homeowner who serves as Trump's chief economic adviser, blasted Trudeau after the prime minister clashed with Trump during the G-7 summit in Canada.

Before joining the White House, Kudlow vocally opposed the protectionist trade agenda that Trump promoted, but he has become a forceful advocate for the president's policies since joining the administration. He replaced Gary Cohn, who resigned after losing his battle against imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

The White House says Trump will leave Singapore Tuesday, because the talks have "moved more quickly than expected". It initially was meant to rid the North of its weapons, to forge the "complete denuclearization" of the country.

"In an interview with CNN on Sunday, Mr Kudlow said: "[Mr Trudeau] really kind of stabbed us in the back".

He sought to tie Trump's reaction to the upcoming summit with Mr Kim, saying the North Korean leader "must not see American weakness".

"Earlier today", Kudlow "experienced what his doctors say was a very mild heart attack".

Kim smiled as he heard the translator interpret the president's remarks, before weighing in with a brief statement of his own. The two clasped hands for a long while Tuesday as they posed for photos in front of a row of US and North Korean flags.

Trump's choice of Kudlow to be his top economic aide elevated the influence of a longtime fixture on the business news network CNBC. The month he was tapped for the White House job, he co-authored an article that argued such tariffs were akin to sanctions on the United States itself.
