Geraint Thomas survived a late scare to win the Criterium du Dauphine as Adam Yates of the Australian Mitchelton-Scott team won the final stage to consolidate second place.

Yates finished the punishing 136-kilometre ride from Moutiers to Saint-Gervais four seconds ahead of Spaniard Daniel Navarro, with Frenchman Romain Bardet in third place, nine seconds behind the stage victor. France's Romain Bardet, of AG2R, jumped to third from seventh overnight and is at 2min 01sec. Now I realise I've won a massive race.

It came on a 110 kilometres stage from Frontenex which is nearly a carbon copy of this year's Tour de France stage 11.

Mom at first thought that maybe Kailyn had slept in an awkward position and her legs had gone numb, according to a Facebook post . Paralysis sets in slowly, starting in the legs and spreading into upper body, stopping your breathing if left unchecked.

The 32-year-old Thomas registered his first win at the Dauphine, probably the greatest success of his professional career, topping even his Paris-Nice victory in 2016.

"I made a good recovery though and I'm in good shape, ready for the next training block ahead of the Tour". I get to ride the races I want and I am a leader in a lot of them. Thomas came in second, managing to put further valuable seconds between himself and his rivals for the yellow leader. Romain Bardet (FRA) AG2R La Mondiale +9 4. Dan Martin (IRL/EAU) 24, 7. Emanuel Buchmann (GER) BORA - hansgrohe +14 5.

Having been the last man standing in support of Thomas, meanwhile, Tao Geoghegan Hart climbed to 13th overall to follow his fifth place in support of Egan Arley Bernal's Amgen Tour of California win last month. Pierre Latour (FRA/ALM) 35, 10.
