OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T get support for Project Treble with new Open beta update
Last year's flagships from OnePlus, the company known for cramming top-tier features into surprisingly affordable packages, has announced both the OnePlus 5 and 5T will be receiving support for Google's Project Treble. The solution will thus shorten the process of updating Android OS which has been slow for several OEMs. Both the features have been added by the company with the latest Open Beta update.
As requested by nearly everyone who owns the OnePlus 5 and 5T, the Project Treble support is now live for these devices.
OnePlus has already confirmed two years of Android updates for its smartphones, which means OnePlus 5, 5T will get upgraded to Android P. There will be an additional year of Android security updates for the two phones as well, though this does not mean they will Android Q when that launches in 2019.
Previously a representative for OnePlus insisted neither the OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T would be a part of Project Treble. A few months ago, Android received a new Vendor Interface, which is largely what Project Treble is about. Today OnePlus has released a new pair of Open Betas for the OnePlus 5 and 5T, and the changes are quite substantial, including "Supported [sic] for Project Treble".
Project Treble support is now only in this newest OxygenOS beta. Yes, OnePlus has now rolled out Project Treble support for the OnePlus 5 and 5T officially. HDR settings are now kept from the last time app was used while editing experience in the Gallery has been optimized together with the editing experience in Gallery. This update itself comes with an updated user interface, tweaks to the way the launcher works, a new Weather app design, and accent colour customisation support. With the update, you get a color wheel for customization, which is what a lot of users have been asking for. The changelog for the update also says "A brand new user interface". The Hidden Drawer, which appears when you pull from the left of the launcher, also gets some improvements in terms of app listings. For users running on a stage build, make sure to read the instructions concerned with flashing the update manually before something goes wrong.

Why higher unemployment signals a strengthening economy
The unemployment rate ticked up to 4% from 3.8%, but this was because more people entered the labour force looking for work. The US economy needs to create roughly 120,000 jobs per month to keep up with growth in the working-age population.
