Amir-Abollahian says Syrians will not allow Israel to control Syria
In addition to the Syrian army, Iranian fighters and Lebanese Hezbollah troops are also stationed at the air base, according to the Observatory.
Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told AFP that a missile bombardment killed an unspecified number of "Iranian and pro-regime fighters" at the T-4 base and was "likely to be Israeli".
Damascus, as well as its allies Iran and Russian Federation, blamed Israel for an April 9 air strike on the same Homs base, an attack that killed seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) members.
Meanwhile, the TV said six missiles landed in the vicinity of the base during the airstrike on Sunday, adding that damages were caused with no reports on casualties yet.
While Iran plays a key role propping up the regime of brutal Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, it also uses its positions in Syria to transfer weapons and infrastructure to its terror proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, a sworn enemy of Israel. Reports later surfaced that advanced Iranian Air defenses had been the target of the strike.
In February, an armed Iranian drone infiltrated into northern Israel in which the IDF claims was on a sabotage attack mission against the Jewish State.

An Israeli military spokeswoman declined to comment on the latest incident. "Second, we will demand that Syria, and the Syrian military, strictly uphold the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement", Netanyahu said.
