Eight boys rescued from Thai cave recovering — Sunglasses and chocolates

Thai Navy divers in Tham Luang cave during rescue operations for the 12 boys and their football team coach trapped in the cave at Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park in the Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai province

As the minutes stretched into hours under the hot sun in this corner of north-western Thailand bordering Myanmar, hopes were rising that news of a third successful rescue by the so-called "all-star" team of Thai and worldwide divers - which included as many as eight Australians in support roles - was imminent.

Dozens of foreign divers and other experts from around the world were brought in to help the rescue effort, working alongside Thai Navy SEALs.

On Tuesday morning, the permanent secretary of the public health ministry, Jesada Chokedamrongsuk, told reporters the eight boys rescued in the past two days were "in good health", with no fever and "in a good mental state".

"All five will be brought out at the same time today", said the head of the rescue mission, Narongsak Osottanakornon, on Tuesday. They began again at 11 am on Monday after the teams had stopped for the night to rest and to replenish equipment and oxygen supplies.

Thais have been fixated on the crisis, hoping desperately for the safe return of the 12 boys and their 25-year-old football coach, after they ventured into the Tham Luang cave complex after practice and became trapped by rising waters more than a fortnight ago.

The saga has dominated global headlines, with the team spending 9 days unaccounted for inside the cave, before British divers found the emaciated and dishevelled group huddling on a muddy bank above the flooding.

Ten killed in Turkish train accident
Two train drivers were summoned for questioning by police on Monday over the accident, state news agency Anadolu reported . A passenger train has derailed in northwest Turkey, leading to deaths and injuries, according to local media reports.

Since the operation started, the area outside the cave's entrance has filled with media, volunteers and onlookers.

Four boys and their soccer coach remain in the cave.

Still, the four were undergoing medical checks in a hospital in Chiang Rai city, the provincial capital, and were not yet allowed close contact with relatives, due to fear of infections.

The third and final phase of the rescue mission is moving quickly with reports of the rescue of three more boys, taking the total number of boys evacuated to 11.

It's unclear whether Thai officials will opt to use Musk's submarine to rescue the four remaining boys and their soccer coach.

The first boy to exit the cave on Tuesday came out on 16:06 local time (09:06 GMT), Thai Navy SEALs said, six hours after rescue operation officials said 19 divers had entered the cave complex.

Cristiano Ronaldo rejects huge Chinese Super League contract offer
Juventus have emerged as surprise frontrunners to sign the 33-year-old this summer following reports that he is unhappy at the Bernabeu and eager for a new challenge.

He said, "the kids are footballers so they have high immune systems".

Musk had offered mini submarine, named Wild Boar after the kids' football team, to help in the rescue operation.

He said they would need to keep at least 2 metres away from their boys for at least 48 hours, until "we are sure there is no infection, then they can visit them normally".

At least nine ambulances and a convoy of other vehicles were at the cave site Tuesday.

"Even though their equipment is technologically sophisticated, it doesn't fit with our mission to go in the cave", he said, according to BBC.

Divers involved in the rescue described treacherous conditions, with fast-moving shallow water passing through very narrow passages.
