Netflix auto-download for offline watching hits Android today

Netflix auto-download for offline watching hits Android today

The new "Smart Downloads" setup, announced today in a blog post, will automatically delete episodes that are viewed and then download the next episode once you are connected to WiFi.

Sadly there's still no one-stop option to download an entire season of a show, so if you're stocking up on episodes for a long flight, or a trip out somewhere with poor mobile coverage, you'll still need to do it manually.

Sworn in with new powers, Erdoğan leaves on first trip
The only European Union leaders are set to be Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Hungary's strongman Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan makes a speech during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Ankara , Turkey, on July 9.

After updating compatible devices with the new feature, Netflix will automatically delete your downloaded shows after you have finished watching them.

Netflix is figuring out how to make TV work on your smartphone, where downloading a TV show can mean less room for selfies or devour your data plan. Unfortunately, it's unclear if it's also making its way to iPhones and iPads, but we asked the company and will let you know once we find out. Said Cameron Johnson, Director of Product Innovation at Netflix.

7th Accuser: 'Jim Jordan definitely knew that these things were happening'
Another wrestler told NBC that he, too, had told Jordan what happened. "It was there. He knew about it because it was an everyday occurrence", Range told the Post.

The app for both iOS and Android, however, is absolutely free, and you can grab it from the links below. Smart Downloads will notify you when the feature starts downloading an episode, and you can even turn it off if you aren't a fan. For the time being, Smart Downloads is only available on Wi-Fi in order to allow the user to keep control over their mobile data usage from the app.

For now, the feature is limited to TV shows. It's important to remember that the feature isn't adding a massive function; it's simply automating a process that is now manual, and will only suit a section of the user base.

Eight boys rescued from Thai cave recovering — Sunglasses and chocolates
It's unclear whether Thai officials will opt to use Musk's submarine to rescue the four remaining boys and their soccer coach . Since the operation started, the area outside the cave's entrance has filled with media, volunteers and onlookers.

The feature is flawless for those who love binge watching TV shows, don't want to burn through their data allowance, and certainly do not like the process of going through the download process manually.
