Linda Daniels died Thursday after the terminally-ill patient’s power was turned off

Per NJ.com, relatives of Daniels, who was in hospice care due to congestive heart failure, say she struggled to breathe after the utility company cut off power and her oxygen tank and air conditioning shut down; this despite multiple family members calling PSE&G throughout the 90-degree day.

Daniels' oxygen tank was powered by electricity and she succumbed to her condition seven hours after power was cut off to her home, CNN reported. She died at 4:23 p.m. of heart failure, her family said. Linda Daniels lived on Shepard Avenue in Newark.

'We were fanning her.

The family called paramedics who showed up with a portable oxygen tank. "She was trying to catch her breath".

A day late and a dollar short, the power company turned on Daniels' electricity one day after she died.

Daniels' family, however, argues that they did register her medical equipment with the utility company. "We asked them, 'Why are you turning off her electric at the pole?'" Last Thursday, as the summer temperature reportedly shot into the 90s, Daniels's electricity was cut off by the local power company, PSE&G.

Daniels' granddaughter Armiya Daniels said it was hard watching her grandmother suffer before her death. "One rep told me to stop calling, that there were too many tickets in the system", said Desiree, "PSEG said, 'Oh, we're on our way, ' kept telling us that, but no one showed up".

A source involved in the rescue mission who saw two of the four boys walk out of the cave told Reuters that they looked exhausted but healthy, adding that one even looked "vivacious and fresh". "While there will be a complete investigation of this matter, our records indicate that this account was severely in arrears and we made at least 15 attempts to notify the customer since January, 2018, including two visits to the residence prior to the disconnection", the company said in the statement.

David Lammy, a prominent member of the opposition Labour party, derided Davis as "a man who cant take responsibility". That's partly because they can't be sure they have the numbers needed to defeat her.

Desiree said the PSE&G utility truck did not arrive until Friday morning - about 16 hours after her mother died.

"In a statement, PSEG said, in part: "...because there was no response from the customer, the customer was shut off. It's so sad she had to go like that. "We want to ensure it doesn't happen again, and we can not have our senior population in jeopardy like that".

Newark police are investigating the incident, according to the Associated Press.

Her daughter said she had made good faith payments citing that a $300 payment was sent in April, a $450 was sent following that, and July 3, two days before Daniels died, a $500 payment was made on the account.
