Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ Movie Gets the Greenlight, Will Shoot in the Fall

Phoenix has previously discussed Leto's work as the Joker and revealed he would take the character in a different direction than his predecessors.

Now it seems actor Joaquin Phoenix is going to try his hand at playing the DC Comics psychopath with a sick sense of humor in a new origin-story movie green-lit by Warner Bros.

Official plot details are now under wraps, though the film is rumored to depict the Clown Prince of Crime as a failed comedian who becomes The Joker after bombing with audiences.
