Federer, Nadal close in on dream final

Roger Federer wastes match point loses to Kevin Anderson at Wimbledon

Nishikori and John Isner are both through to the quarter-finals for the first time.

The 20-time Grand Slam victor is aiming for a 13th Wimbledon semi-final and to extend his record for the most last four appearance at the All England Club in the Open Era, having taken sole ownership of the record from American Jimmy Connors during his 2017 title run.

Deploying his huge serve to lethal effect, Anderson roared back to leave the champion's title bid in tatters thanks to a barrage of 28 aces and 65 winners. 'Against Anderson he has won all four matches and never dropped a set, so I expect him to comfortably get through. Federer ended up with more points won than Anderson in this match, but ultimately the difference came down to two unforced errors. But that turned out to be the least of his worries.

Anderson's attempt to serve out the set was not without drama but, though Federer brought up a break-back point, a searing cross-court backhand saved it and a forehand into the left corner secured a decider.

Father-of-four Federer hopes to be back for a 21st straight shot at the title in 2019.

Leaked Galaxy Tab S4 render reveals the new S Pen
Most notably, the bottom bezel (or rather the chin) below the display is slightly smaller than that on the Note 8 . He later posted a side-by-side comparison of the S Pen for the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Tab S4 .

The first hiccup surfaced at the start of the second set with Anderson breaking the Federer serve and ending that run of holds.

In the last eight tomorrow, Federer will face eighth seed Kevin Anderson, one of a number of players enjoying a career-best Wimbledon after a 7-6 (7/4), 7-6 (7/2), 5-7, 7-6 (7/4) victory over Gael Monfils.

Anderson took his opportunity, despite having to save three break points, to seal it in majestic fashion with an ace.

The final set lasted 90 minutes, and it was captivating stuff. Anderson held for 5-all, broke to 6-5 with a violent return victor off a 97 miles per hour second serve, then staved off three break points and closed the set with a 133 miles per hour ace.

Anderson needed four more booming serves to reach a first Wimbledon semi-final, and he found them.

Kevin Anderson of South Africa celebrates winning his men's quarterfinals match against Switzerland's Roger Federer, at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, in London, Wednesday July 11, 2018.

"Down 2-0 I tried my best to keep fighting and was able to scrape through and by the end I thought I did a great job".

Funny, sweet conversations on Twitter is not a new thing, but a chat between Swiss tennis star Roger Federer and star Indian Batsman Sachin Tendulkar is something one can not miss. "I speak with him every day, he told me that he is doing well". You have to have that mindset. "I just gave it my all and I'm ecstatic to get through that".

But Federer offered a contrasting view in his media conference following a 6-0 7-5 6-4 fourth-round win over Adrian Mannarino on Monday.

Federer, the No 1 seed, had been widely expected to cruise through to the final before facing the likes of Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic.
