Zsa Zsa, Bulldog Crowned World's Ugliest Pooch, Dies At 9

Zsa Zsa, the English bulldog who last month was crowned World's Ugliest Dog, has died.

United States news outlet Today reports the unfortunate - but loveable - pooch died overnight, New Zealand time, at her home in Minnesota with owner Megan Brainard present until the end. She was 9 years old. She lived life as an underdog, spending five years in a puppy mill before being rescued.

The beloved English bulldog, known for her iconic look featuring pink toenails and a lolling side-swept tongue, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning.

Brainard said she named the pooch after Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor because she liked to lie on the couch "like a attractive model". "We were all saying our goodbyes". He says she appeared fine the day before, so it was a shock.
