Indiana Jones 5 Gets New 2021 Release Date Ryan Scott
Get ready to wave goodbye to the people on the dock, because the long-awaited "Jungle Cruise" movie finally has a scheduled release date along with "Maleficent 2", as Disney stated in an updated film release schedule through 2021. The delay comes as a result of script issues, which is why Solo: A Star Wars Story scribe Jon Kasdan was recently brought on board to work on the project.
The shakeup extends to a number of Disney films scheduled through 2021, including Mary Poppins Returns flying up to December 19 this year from December 25; Jungle Cruise sailing onto an October 11, 2019 release date; and Maleficent 2 being conjured into theaters on May 29, 2020.
After reports two weeks ago that Indiana Jones 5 would miss its 2020 release, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced the new anticipated release date for the long in-development sequel. Jungle Cruise will now go head-to-head with MGM's animated Addams Family, Warner Bros.' Goldfinch, Columbia's The Crow Reborn, and Paramount's Are You Afraid of the Dark?
