Mueller is now prosecuting Manafort in two separate criminal cases in Virginia and Washington, DC on a dozen criminal charges including tax and bank fraud, conspiracy, lying to investigators, and obstruction of justice.
Paul Manafort has been treated like a "VIP" in jail, with a private bathroom and shower, a personal laptop and phone, and access to a meeting space for his legal team, Special Counsel Robert Mueller told a judge.
For now the trial in Virginia is still set to begin July 25.
The Mueller team's court filing said Manafort was being detained in a "living unit" that was bigger than that given to other inmates.
Though Manafort's lawyers have said he spends almost all of his days in solitary confinement, prosecutors described his living arrangements as a "private, self-contained living unit, which is larger than other inmates' units" with its own bathroom and shower.

Manafort is also reported to have found a "workaround" on the prison's email ban.
On the monitored prison phone calls, Manafort has mentioned that he is being treated like a "VIP'".
Manafort had initially argued that his detention in Northern Neck, Virginia, a couple of hours outside Washington, has impeded his ability to work on his defense for his fraud trials.
This isn't the first time Manafort has received special privileges while under law enforcement supervision.
"C$3 ontrary to Manafort's assertions about his jail conditions, Manafort is in a private unit in which he can review materials and prepare for trial", the special counsel said in its brief.

"Manafort has access to a separate workroom at the jail to meet with his attorneys and legal team", it continues.
Last week, attorneys for Manafort asked the court to delay Manafort's trial, claiming their client's detention at the rural facility put an unfair burden on pretrial preparations and specifically citing the distance - more than 100 miles - from Warsaw to Washington, D.C. Manafort also cited the lengthy commute in waiving his right to appear at pretrial hearings.
