GETTYRoger Federer fans are furious they will not get to see their hero in the Wimbledon final

In the biggest upset of this year's Wimbledon Championship, Anderson beat world number one Federer in a sprawling five-set epic lasting four hours and 14 minutes.

South Africa's Kevin Anderson will square-off against John Isner.

The Isner-Anderson match was the first Grand Slam men's semifinal to go past 6-all in the deciding set since the 2013 French Open, and the first at Wimbledon since 2001. Isner took the second set tiebreaker 7-6 (5), punctuating it with an ace.

Anderson will play again in the final on Sunday - hopefully there, a victor will be decided in four sets or less. On the pro tour, Isner held the decided edge in their matches with an 8-3 record.

Canada to head new North Atlantic Treaty Organisation mission in Iraq
Canada also contributes mobile training teams to NATO's counter-improvised explosive device capacity building efforts for Iraq. The current force battling the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria consists of about 9,000 troops, some 5,000 of who are American.

The Wimbledon semifinal between Kevin Anderson and John Isner is going to a fifth set.

Isner won the longest match at Wimbledon - or any other tournament - when he beat Nicolas Mahut 70-68 in the fifth set after 11 hours, 5 minutes in 2010.

While one might think that such a closely fought match was an enthralling display of athleticism, as the game teetered back and forth in the fifth set, the opposite was true.

Anderson came through a marathon serving game at 1-1, saving three break points before finally holding serve after an eighth deuce.

Coming up: Partial solar eclipse on Friday the 13th
To view the partial eclipse, people should wear proper glasses to protect their eyes from the Sun. The eclipse will be a partial one - when the Moon slips past, only partially concealing the Sun.

The ball was in Kevin Anderson's court when he defeated Roger Federer on Wednesday to book a semifinal spot in the 2018 Wimbledon. However, Melichar and Peschke won the next two games to seal it. Brian Norton was the last South African man to reach the final in 1921.

Given the length of this match, it may well prove hard for Djokovic and Nadal to complete their contest on Friday. Djokovic owns 12 Slam trophies, three from Wimbledon.

Isner was trying to end the longest major title drought - 58 majors - for USA men in tennis history.
