US President Donald Trump has published a letter from Kim Jong-un, in which North Korea's leader voices hopes for a "new future" in bilateral relations.

A very nice note from Chairman Kim of North Korea. Great progress being made!'

North Korea's criticism of talks with Pompeo fueled further doubts about whether Trump will ever achieve his goal of "complete denuclearization", much less on the timeline of one to 2-1/2 years set out by various administration officials.

That was the day Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived for two days of meetings with top North Korean officials, which ended on a sour note after Pyongyang blasted the US side for issuing a "unilateral and gangster-like demand for denuclearization".

The meeting was to discuss repatriation of the remains of USA troops who died in the Korean War almost 70 years ago, another term agreed upon during the June 12 summit.

But ultimately, it wasn't enough. "You would not believe how much business we got just from that memorabilia alone", he said. By this year, only a pair in Alaska and the final OR store had endured.

The idea of "practical actions" is hardly a firm stance issued by the North Korean dictator.

On June 20, Trump erroneously said 200 human remains had already "been sent back" from North Korea.

The remains of almost 8,000 USA troops remain unaccounted for on the Korean peninsula, and 5,300 of those bodies are believed to be located somewhere north of the demilitarized zone.

The letter, dated July 6, referred to Trump as "Your Excellency" five times in four sentences but made no mention of the return of remains or North Korea's pledge to begin the process of dismantling its nuclear and missile programs.

According to President Trump, returning the remains of US troops was agreed upon during the Singapore summit.

Embassy in Brussels, the president also lashed out at the Muslim mayor of London , saying he had done "a awful job". Meanwhile, a poll by SkyData revealed 51% of people thought Trump was right to make his views of Brexit public.

This latest incident comes shortly after Pompeo's visit to Pyongyang resulted in North Korea accusing Pompeo of making a "unilateral and gangster-like demand for nuclearization".

Meanwhile, it is yet to be seen whether North Korea will show up for the talks a day after the scheduled date.

Their meeting - the first between a sitting U.S. president and North Korea, led to claims that the latter would work towards dumping its nuclear weapons.

State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said the USA will be ready.

But at the border village of Panmunjom on Thursday, the North Koreans were a no-show for their scheduled working-level talks with USA officials on the repatriation of American troops killed in the North during the Korean War.

There is speculation that North Korea may also want payment for the return of the remains, our correspondent adds. -North Korea relations, despite signs that path-finding diplomacy between the adversaries is running into problems.
