CDC warns people not to wash reuse condoms

The washed condom with its weakened latex may be more likely to tear say experts.

Correctly using male condoms, female condoms and dental dams every time, can reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and viral hepatitis.

Whether the CDC's warning actually influences people to not reuse condoms remains to be seen, but it has led to a lot of hilarious snark.

According to a report from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, many people are washing or re-using condoms after they have used them.

So why can't you reuse condoms, as if they were no different than the cocoon of plastic grocery bags you keep hanging on the inside of a random kitchen cabinet? Further not more than one condom must be used at a time. This would be anyway be quite a hard task say experts and is most likely to lead to breakage.

"We say it because people do it", the CDC tweeted.

The CDC released a tweet last week reminding people to not reuse or wash their rubbers.

The reaction GIF was absolutely spot-on.

A lot of people still aren't getting the message about proper condom use.

And another wrote, hopefully with their tongue firmly in their cheek: "Well, what the hell am I supposed to with all these condoms in the dishwasher now?"
