Resorts Casino Strikes Deals To Provide Sports Betting In New Jersey

Murren (possibly accidentally) revealed the beginning of sports betting in New Jersey during the press conference announcing MGM's deal to be the official gambling partner of the National Basketball Association.

Elsewhere, during the press conference surrounding their groundbreaking partnership with the NBA, MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren casually dropped the bombshell that MGM expects to be accepting wagers from their mobile app within days.

"It's a day-to-day thing", the MGM spokesperson said when asked when the state's Division of Gaming Enforcement is expected to approve playMGM, the casino's sports betting app.

The app offers different kinds of betting, including live in-game bets, and it will allow players to exit a wager, or "Cash Out", if they change their minds.

With the DraftKings sports betting option, customers will only be able to place wagers while physically within the borders of New Jersey. MS allows mobile wagering but only on casino premises.
