Xiaomi Mi A2 Price in India Leaked ahead of Today’s Launch
09 August 2018, 05:13 | Casey Mitchell
Xiaomi Mi A2 4GB variant launched at Rs 16999 in India
The successor of Xiaomi Mi A1 comes loaded with a metal design and it employs the 18:9 tall display. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform featuring Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU.
According to early revelations, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage of the model will be flawless as the entry point for the new model.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 sports a dual rear camera setup, with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 sensor in the primary camera, featuring 1.25-micron pixels with an f/1.75 aperture. Incidentally, there is no micro-SD card slot. Xiaomi insists the additional 20MP sensor at the back aids in lowlight imaging. Both the sensors have an f/1.75 aperture. However, it seems Xiaomi will undercut that estimate by a substantial margin. Incidentally, even the Mi A1 offered the exact same battery capacity. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and USB Type-C.
Software: The Mi A2 runs a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. Incidentally, Xiaomi Mi A2 does not have a 3.5mm audio jack, which means traditional 3.5mm headphones can not be connected to the smartphones directly. This handset is marking the entry of the second Xiaomi phone, which is a part of Android One initiative being carried out in India.
As with other Xiaomi pre-bookings, the Mi A2 pre-order sale today will require the buyers to make the full payment for the handset online as there is no cash on delivery option. The device also comes with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging, which is exclusive to the Indian market.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is certainly an interesting smartphone from a company that prides itself with a lower field failure rate. It will also include a 20MP front-facing camera. But it does come with Electronic Image Stabilization to ensure good video quality.
