Alan Wake Being Adapted Into a TV Series
Video games rarely translate to the big screen, but what about the small screen? "In a story like Alan Wake, a story filled with mystery and questions, answering this one would be a spoiler", Lake said.
According to a recent announcement, a live-action Alan Wake television adaption is now in the works, with Peter Calloway (Cloak & Dagger, Legion) taking on the role of writer and Remedy Entertainment's creative director Sam Lake serving as executive producer.
"Alan Wake was basically a TV series that was put into a game". "That was Sam [Lake's] vision". It was influenced by The Twilight Zone, Secret Window, Hitchcock, Northern Exposure, a lot of United States television.
It's a move that makes sense - the original game was heavily influenced by classic TV series aesthetically, right down to it being structured into six "episodes", paced like each segment of the game was its own slice of TV, complete with cliffhangers and even credits songs.
And in doing so, the show will tap into the story that was planned for the Alan Wake game sequel that never came to be.
As Harlan said, the games felt nearly like shows turned into games thanks the first being structured in an episodic format despite being released as a singular game.
Wright To Play During Mets’ Final Homestand
Wright, as you know, hasn't appeared in a major league game since May 27, 2016 due to neck, back, and shoulder injuries. Lucie on August 12 and was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on August 28.
While the game followed Alan Wake throughout, with other characters serving as obstacles or allies, the show will develop those characters and the universe itself beyond what we've already seen. Tomas Harlan, a partner at Contradiction, says that a number of studios had expressed interest in the project. Sam is a huge part of this.
Speaking of which, according to Lake, a lot of the concepts and stories Remedy has drawn up for Alan Wake 2 will be used as inspiration for the TV series... "We'll be expanding the lore of this insane and dark universe and diving deeper into certain aspects of it than the game ever did". However, Lake declined to comment on whether the show's story will be part of the official Alan Wake universe.

The new watch, with a price tag that starts at $399 in the U.S. and €499 ($580) in Germany, is a more comprehensive health device. Overall I found the new Apple Watch 4 a lot more attractive than its predecessors - though it's still a quite steep price point.
