World leaders to attend Kofi Annan’s state funeral in Ghana
Nobel peace laureate Annan, who was the world body's first leader from sub-Saharan Africa, died aged 80 on August 18 after a short illness.

Around 6,000 mourners packed the auditorium for Thursday's official service - the climax of a multi-day funeral ceremony, which has seen his coffin, draped in the Ghanaian national colors, displayed for public viewing.
He was also someone virtually anyone in the world could see themselves in: those on the far reaching of poverty or by, conflict and despair who found in him an ally; the junior United Nations staffers following in his footsteps; the young person to whom he said until his dying breath 'always remember, you are never too young to lead - and we are never too old to learn.
The body of the deceased was flown to Ghana on Monday evening ahead of the burial, which is scheduled to take place Thursday, 13th September, 2018.
