United States fighters intercept Russian bomber near Alaska

Air Force F-22 Raptors intercepted a pair of Russian bombers and their fighter escorts this week near Alaska, according to North American Aerospace Defense Command.

The bombers were "intercepted west of mainland Alaska were accompanied by two Russian SU-35 "Flanker" fighter jets", the statement reads, according to network.

"At no time did the aircraft enter United States or Canadian sovereign airspace", NORAD said.
