SpaceXannounced late Thursday evening that it had penned its first ever private passenger to fly around the moon in its new Big Falcon Rocket (BFR).
SpaceX is ready to send the world's first private space passenger around the moon.
The company is tight-lipped on the rest, save a second tweet noting "only 24 humans have been to the Moon in history".

The BFR is SpaceX's newest rocket, a super powerful launch vehicle with 31 engines and the capacity to lift 150 tons into space.
The identity of the passenger is set to be announced on a webcast on the company's website Monday, September 17 at 6pm PT. Company representatives declined to offer additional details Friday. On a Twitter thread underneath the main announcement, a verified Twitter account attributed to CEOElon Musk tweeted a picture of a Japanese flag.
The first ship carrying crews could arrive two years later, he said.
SpaceX plans to send a tourist on a trip around the moon aboard its Big Falcon Rocket (BFR). However the passengers were never named and the flight has yet to materialize. These include performing satellite launches, cleaning up space junk, and of course, taking the rich and space curious on trips around the moon.
The Falcon Heavy debuted one year after that announcement was made.
