SpaceX signs up first private moon traveler

SpaceX's Giant BFR Rocket Will Launch a Passenger Around the Moon

SpaceX announced late Thursday evening that it had penned its first ever private passenger to fly around the moon in its new Big Falcon Rocket (BFR).

SpaceX is ready to send the world's first private space passenger around the moon.

The company is tight-lipped on the rest, save a second tweet noting "only 24 humans have been to the Moon in history".

The identity of the passenger is set to be announced on a webcast on the company's website Monday, September 17 at 6pm PT. Company representatives declined to offer additional details Friday. On a Twitter thread underneath the main announcement, a verified Twitter account attributed to CEO Elon Musk tweeted a picture of a Japanese flag.
