MI man makes shocking discovery about 30-year-old doorstop

A meteorite worth about $100,000 had been used as a doorstop at a Michigan farm for years, according to Central Michigan University.

"For 18 years, the answer has been categorically "no" - meteor wrongs, not meteorites", she said in a statement.

"I could tell right away that this was something special", Mona Sirbescu, a geologist at Central Michigan University said.

The 22-pound meteorite was examined under x-ray fluorescence scanning which determined that it was composed of 88 percent iron and 12 percent nickel (a metal that is relatively rare on Earth). Though, this is not just any ordinary space rock.

Even though Dr. Sirbescu knew exactly what it was, it had to be sent to the Smithsonian Museum for verification, it wasn't until Thursday word came back it definitively is a meteorite, the 6th largest ever found in MI.

Telltale's The Walking Dead game will now be finished by Skybound
However, Skybound Games announced today a deal that will apparently see the company continue and finish The Final Season . Skybound has been involved with Telltale's game since the outset, so it's not surprising that it would swoop in.

"It's the most valuable specimen I have ever held in my life, monetarily and scientifically", Sibescu said.

Dr Sirbescu sent a sample of the rock to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, which confirmed her findings.

David says the man who sold him the barn described the wonderful tale of the meteorite making an impact crater in the backyard.

Almost three dozen years, the space stone was in Edmore, and then to Grand rapids, where he moved the new owner. He said the farmer who sold him the property told him it landed in his backyard in the 1930s. In the morning, the farmer and his father found the crater and dug out the still-warm meteorite.

This year, the man was inspired by stories of MI residents finding and selling pieces of meteorites.

Interpol president's wife tells press conference she fears husband is in danger
The South China Morning Post reported that Meng is under investigation in China for unspecified reasons. Fearing her and her two children's safety, Grace Meng hid her face from reporters.

The man, who lived on the farm for a few years, moved, and took the meteorite with him.

The Smithsonian museum has valued the meteorite, which they named the Edford, at $100,000. "I wonder how much mine is worth'".

The Smithsonian and a mineral museum in ME are considering buying the meteorite - now called "Edmore" - for display, according to CMU.

The owner promised to give 10 percent of the sale value to CMU.
